I just found out that they made an Isuzu “Trailblazer”
.
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
So this truck was sold as An Isuzu Ascender
A Chevy Trailblazer (SS for fun)
GMC Envoy (wait three spokes wheels? are you sure this isn’t a Saab?)
Buick Raindeer... now,Rainer (basically just a Trailblazer with a Ren Dez Vooz Face grafted on.)
The Olds Bravada (a face so ugly, not even an Aurora could love it.)
And the Saab 97x AKA The Pretty One. (also noticed it looks like this one is wearing the same wheels as the Buick above.)
That is SIX different badges all on the same frame, at the same time. They all shared the same engines, chassis, and all had horrible interiors. Which got me wondering. What Car has been the most badge engineered the most, with the least changes. If you can think of anything that has warn badging from more then six makes, within the same model year, please let me know. lol.

Actually the Saab used mainly the same body as the Olds just with a new front clip; ironic that they were both supposed to be the fanciest of the GMT360 SUVs and both came from brands that would die within five years of having a GMT360 in their product line...

The olds also has some extra body cladding on the doors.

Torch has a possible answer for you, sold under 9 different names (though I don’t know how many were all available at once):

I worked at the Moraine Assembly Plant in Dayton, Ohio where these were made. My father ran the final line in production. I worked in the paint dept, the trim dept, and final line during the summers when I was in college. I own an 06 Trailblazer and I love it. Honestly I wish I had the Isuzu because I think it’s my favorite. These are great vehicles and we sold a lot of them (when I worked there a completed vehicle came off the assembly line once every 50 seconds).

Don’t forget the Chevrolet SSR was on the same chassis.

Wow really? that’s hilarious. Wait do you mean HHR? I thought the SSR was on a Corvette chassis.

Nope. Vette doesn’t share its chassis with anything.

That’s cool, was there ever mix ups with parts, like an Olds front end on a car with a GMC interior? I remember hearing stories of GM plants putting Cutlass parts on Monte Carlos and things like that, but that was in the 80’s.
Also I think I’d have to have the Saab, it’s the only one without the bubbly GM soft rubber interior like my Wife’s old Cavalier. I just don’t think it looks pleasant at all.
Chevy
GMC(this one isn’t as bad either. I just think the Saab looks cleaner)
Olds/Buick
Saab: I just wish there wasn’t so much fake wood. DARN YOU GM!

The Saab is really awesome too. My 2nd favorite!
I really don’t know about parts mix ups. Frankly, it’s astonishing how everything gets assembled in the first place: If one stops and thinks about how the vehicle goes from being sheet metal to a finsihed product....with all of those options, color combos and parts....with the body starting in one area of the factory, the chassis starting in another, and the engine starting in another...then the doors being removed to run down the “door line” and then to meet back up to be put on again......it’s mind boggling.
*I will add this; I don’t know about parts mix ups....but I do know there was a a gigantic machine called the “body marriage” where the body would come out of the upper floor of the factory and mate with the chassis on the below line......well that thing would get out of line and literally crash the body into the chassis and destroy the whole vehicle. It was a horrific and spectacular destructive sound when it occurred and it caused factory wide chaos and it happened more often than I think GM liked.
Hey Oppos! If you ever get a chance to tour a major automotive assembly plant JUMP ON it. There are wonderful things to see!
